Oshirokita 192 Posted September 10, 2005 Still don't have my computer back yet and I am too late to play (I would have chosen Wakakirin Ms42e). - Oshirokita, from the Great White North
Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 10, 2005 Hhhhmmm. Oshirokita missed the deadline by one hour. I would suggest to be lenient in this case because a) he does not have any advantage from his later pick; b) we were all informed about his computer problems; and c) I have basically stolen the idea for this game from his PTYW. (Applauding...) However, this is a difficult matter to decide, and here is my suggestion. If someone says "deadline is deadline, bad luck for Oshirokita", then he or she should inform either this forum or me personally within the next 24 hours. In this case Oshirokita will be kyujo. If nobody interferes then his pick will be included.
Kashunowaka 300 Posted September 10, 2005 (edited) I don't see why the deadline must be so early anyway. Let him play. Edit: when does jonokuchi start? Edited September 10, 2005 by Kashunowaka
Yubiquitoyama 4 Posted September 10, 2005 I don't see why the deadline must be so early anyway. Let him play.Edit: when does jonokuchi start? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> About 9 o'clock at the earliest I think. Should be plenty of time left. I agree, let him play. Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 10, 2005 I don't see why the deadline must be so early anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Generally I'd like to stick with the early deadline. Preparing the table takes about an hour for me that is better spent before shonichi begins. Apart from that, I actually did not know when Jonokuchi begins, so thanks Yubi. Mattjila 0 Posted September 11, 2005 I say demote him to #33. (Applauding...) Nah, let him play.

Itachi 396 Posted September 11, 2005 Oshirokita's excuses for lateness are well known to most of us who play these games. I don't think anyone will object to his entry. Also, clearly no advantage was gained apart from seing the injury update which was available before the dealine anyway.
Jakusotsu 6,041 Posted September 11, 2005 Let him play by all means! It would be a shame to see his great run cut short that way.
Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) Standings after Day 2: Oshirokita stays in the lead, but Zentoryu is still on his heels. Minor setback for those who picked Maenoyu who lost his first bout. Edit: Deleted table. Edited September 14, 2005 by Randomitsuki
Jonosuke 28 Posted September 12, 2005 Hey I heard from a source that Kinryuzan won't go on kyujo but obviously there are sources and then there are sources...hope Kotokuroda does well.
Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 14, 2005 (edited) After Day 4: This game starts to get interesting. Arriving in Sandanme it suddenly gets difficult to pick those surefire winners with 5-2-scores or better. Consequently, the number of 2-0 rikishi among our picks has dwindled to very few. This will be much to the joy of leader Oshirokita whose Wakakirin is still without a loss. Among upper Sandanmeans only the Kadomoto supporters and Azumaryu (Kageyama) keep up with that record for now. Edit: Deleted table Edited September 16, 2005 by Randomitsuki
Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 16, 2005 (edited) After day 6: Oshirokita continues his impressive run in Makushita. Other players who can hope for Makushita are the Kadomoto support trio and Azumaryu (Kageyama). Tooyama, Fukunaga, Nakanishi, Kawataka, and Azusayumi are popular other rikishi who haven't disappointed their supporters thus far. Edit: Deleted table Edited September 19, 2005 by Randomitsuki
Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 19, 2005 (edited) After day 9: Oshirokita cruises high into Makushita territory. Azumaryu looks like the one-man chase pack since his Kageyama is the only upper Sandanme who also is without loss currently. Currently no player must fear of being demoted. In other words, excellent picks thus far. Edit: Deleted table Edited September 21, 2005 by Randomitsuki
Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 21, 2005 (edited) After 11 days: The Kadomoto support crew can look forward to moving into Makushita territory. The only rikishi with 6 wins is blogmaster Tooyama. However, some others (Oshirokita's Wakakirin, Azumaryu's Kageyama, Feginowaka's Tokachiumi, and Kintamayama's Azusayumi) can follow tomorrow. Edit: Deleted table Edited September 23, 2005 by Randomitsuki
Jakusotsu 6,041 Posted September 21, 2005 The only rikishi with 6 wins is blogmaster Tooyama.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not to forget his only passenger, surfmaster Randomitsuki - great pick! :-O
Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 23, 2005 (edited) After Day 13: Oshirokita picked 7-0 Wakakirin, what's more to say? Since nobody picked the Sandanme yusho winners that means Oshirokita surfs on the foremost wave. Congrats also to Exil and Kintamayama for picking 7-0 rikishi in the two lowest divisions. Edit: Deleted table Edited September 25, 2005 by Randomitsuki
Feginowaka 53 Posted September 24, 2005 Wow...looks like I did pick my surfer well (or everyone just wants to be like me). I guess that means a few other people will be joining me down the banzuke once the Mattjila luck causes Kawataka to break a collarbone or something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your pick was good indeed, but you and the other 3 players that picked Kawataka (Jd117) lost some ranks by picking him, because "my" Tokachiumi (Jd104) or even Kubota (Jd95) also made an excellent 6-1 and will end up higher than Kawataka (Carried away on a stretcher...) Randomitsuki 2,843 Posted September 25, 2005 Standings after 15 days: While Oshirokita will safely land in the Makushita promotion zone my tables tell me that not a single other player will even join him on the Kyushu Makushita banzuke. The Kadomoto supporters, led by sashimaru will have a tough fight for second place against Kashunowaka. I see them around Sandanme 6 altogether, closely followed by Yubiquitoyama. Other players in the upper fifth of Sandanme will be Azumaryu (around sd11), Zentoryu (around sd15), and Itachi/Kachitakai (around sd18). Asashosakari 19,628 Posted September 25, 2005 (edited) Well, drat, my picks didn't really pay off...I was hoping that either Fukunaga would go 6-1 or Takahashi 7-0 to get me into the upper half of Sandanme. Not much gained now. (Yusho winner...) Edited September 25, 2005 by Asashosakari
Jakusotsu 6,041 Posted September 25, 2005 Well, drat, my picks didn't really pay off...<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aren't You being a bit harsh here? I consider a 6-1 a big success in this game.
