Kotooushuu meets Bulgarian counterpart

Recommended Posts

Osh met his senpai today, who came to visit Sadogatake for asa-geiko.He is the head of the Bulgarian team that got second place in the team events at the Worlds. 29 year old Petr Stuyanov(1.90, 160 kilos) who used to train with Osh at the "Sports Academy" back in Bulgaria. After doing some keiko with some Makushita guys, he said, "This isn't anything like our keiko back home..". "It's been a while since we've met, and I'm really happy!", added Osh. Looking at the picture, it doesn't look like it..

I think his name is spelled Petar.

I was translating their interviews which were in the news yesterday together with a bout in which another bloody senpai of Kotooshuu beats me.

As for the spelling of his senpai's name, I'm just guessing from the Japanese-there are millions of probabilities.

A certain Petar Stoyanov was the president of Bulgaria between 1997 and 2002. Is this a coincidence or another prank from Kintamayama? (I am not worthy...) I'm sorry, I just got used to them comming from time to time.

Assuming that the name is the same, the Bulgarian spelling is Петър Стоянов. (In case you can see those characters in your browser). There are several possible transliterations into latin charset:

Petyr Stoqnov

Petyr Stoianov

Petr Stoqnov

Petr Stoianov

Petr Stoyanov

Petur Stoianov

Petur Stoqnov

Petur Stoyanov

Petar Stoianov

Petar Stoqnov

Petar Stoyanov

Note: the fourth sound of the first name has no equivalent in English. Or Latin.

A little googling and it's indeed Petar Stoyanov.

I appreciate you chose 'Petr'. At the World Champs, however, they used Petar.

Although his sumo style seemed a bit strange to me, he was very strong. He was saying his large muscles were made from yoghurt (not Creatine, Nishi). He eats 5 litters of yoghurt every day!

This article is from 2004. Did he get a bronze medal in 2004 as well?

He was seriously claiming that. The other Bulgarians too were saying 3 liters at least!
