Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 15, 2003 Hi, sumofans-friends ! After my previous bad decision to leave the site, I'm finally back ! I couldn't leave like this, this great place, this very good web site made by Koteiyayuichi-San ! The new Hoshifransu has come ! So, for 2003, no more "hard" polemics, no more "gloomy" second degree humour or comments - I will avoid the "hot spots" - :~-( and more fun - I promise ! :-
Tokimori 0 Posted January 16, 2003 Welcome back, Hoshi-zeki! We have missed you...
Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 16, 2003 And I missed you all too ! I was with no internet since last X-mas, and only today I managed to connect myself again ... Because of hardware problems, and from now on, I've got a better connexion at last ! Oh dear, I missed a lot of sumo games and I will go down into many banzuke ! Tokimori 0 Posted January 16, 2003 I can tell you that he's been as bad as I've seen him. Without a chance in any match... The only chance tomorrow is that Takanohana is too injured to handle even him... But hope is the last thing that leaves... (Thumbs up...)
Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 16, 2003 Who knows ? His first kinboshi ? His first zabutons to celebrate him ... at last ..? Well, even if Toki does not win, even if he has a career with no prizes, I like him like he is, with his uncommon style : tsuppari, tsuppari, only tsuppari ! Naifuzan 1 Posted January 16, 2003 I swear, its the change of mawashi-color! Bad luck! :-D
Zenjimoto 40 Posted January 16, 2003 Aah! Welcome back, Hoshifransu! Glad you reconsidered after all... Sumoforum without you is sort of like Toki without orange mawashi :) Don't forget, you can still play Sekitori-Toto, starting with 0-0-4, but with good chance to still make KK! You can also still play Odd Sumo, where your team mates are waiting for your return - right now we are in second place and can use a fresh rikishi from the bench! :) Also, don't forget to request "KOSHO" status officially in all the games where you missed the entry deadline, like Bench Sumo and Sumo Game, RotoSumo, and Tip-Spiel (you can still join that, but will be in the hole by some points), to avoid getting a 0-0-15 for "unexcused absence" :) Rock on! Cheers Zenjimoto
Zentoryu 154 Posted January 16, 2003 Welcome back Hoshifransu. You and I may not always see eye to eye, but I hated seeing you leave. You were the life of the forum. However, you probably won't like this post (Laughing...) Unfortunately for Toki, if the tsuppari doesn't work, his last resort is the slapdown. And if that doesn't work, it's all over for him. He's utterly helpless on the belt. For him to be successful against Sanyaku opposition, he needs to learn some belt techniques as his tsuppari isn't as overpowering as Chiyotaikai's or Akebono's. It works well enough against lower rankers, (and against Takanonami for some reason) but against Sanyaku, it's just not enough. Oh, he'll win a few bouts, but he won't be much more than an upset threat against the top-rankers. This is most likely the reason for his poor showing thus far this basho. I don't however see him learning any belt techniques, so you Toki fans can rest easy. :-D
Zentoryu 154 Posted January 16, 2003 Also, don't forget to request "KOSHO" status officially in all the games where you missed the entry deadline, like Bench Sumo The other games yes. But not for Bench Sumo he has unfortunately missed his second straight basho, which is an automatic demotion. :-D
Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 16, 2003 Thanks, I'm very honoured by all these kind words ! Well, I wish Toki and Tsuru won't change their mawashi too often, because if both of them had the same color of mawashi, well, imagine a bit for the commentators during a Takanotsuru Vs Toki fight ... We could have that fight during this basho and I don't want to miss that one ! Well, I'm not an ordinary fan ! 99.999 % of the sumo fans look forward to watching the Asashoryu Vs Takanohana clash and I'm more interested by Tsuru Vs Toki, would you believe it !? (I think they should create a new prize : the best wrestler with sideburns reward : can that man be a good challenger ?) We could even call this prize the Elvis prize ? Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 16, 2003 Another question could be : are all these sideburns their own real sideburns ? Because, nowadays, it's sometimes easy to find and wear false sideburns ...
Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted January 16, 2003 Pleased to see you back. Welcome again. (Thumbs up...)

Yubiquitoyama 4 Posted January 16, 2003 Nice to see you back :-) And don't be afraid of the controversial issues... Actually, I have never seen a forum where the discussions go out of hand so seldom as here. In a "normal" forum, even a hint that Takanohana isn't a living sumo God or that there might have been yaocho once ten years ago would immediately have at least three people so overzealous that Kotoseiya would have to ban their IP-addresses... Once a year is nothing :-)
Tokimori 0 Posted January 16, 2003 Another question could be : are all these sideburns their own real sideburns ? Because, nowadays, it's sometimes easy to find and wear false sideburns ... Toki's sideburns are for real!!! No imposter there... Don't you dare say otherwise or else... :-)
Guest Kyukenzan Posted January 18, 2003 Sideburns are all that matters. That, and mawashi color. Takanotsuru is here to claim the throne!
Kintamayama 45,093 Posted January 18, 2003 Nice to see you back :-DIn a "normal" forum, even a hint that Takanohana isn't a living sumo God or that there might have been yaocho once ten years ago would immediately have at least three people so overzealous that Kotoseiya would have to ban their IP-addresses... I protest to this! Takanohana is a God!! Are you hinting otherwise?? i am deeply offended and am leaving this forum forever. Yaocho? soon you'll be saying that some sekitori beat their tsukebito, and worse, how about shooting at them with air guns, and then losing 18 straight matches?? How low can you Sumo-haters go!! I am leaving as of now, or till I hear a loud and clear apology from this man, for even hinting at these morbid allegations!! Kintamayama 45,093 Posted January 18, 2003 And one more thing!! Welcome back, French Star!! (((((((munch munch))))) (sound of fresh croissant being eaten by too-fat Jewish person who should be eating more fresh salad if he wants to see tomorrow)
