Randomitsuki 2,826 Posted January 13, 2006 Here are the standings after day 6. Oshirokita's strategy might play out to finish with his contenders in front of Baruto and Sawai so that he can pick one of them in Haru Basho. The chase pack falters with both Furuichi and Shibuya currently with negative W/L records. The Wakanoho support trio (Susanoo, Doitsuyama, Asashosakari) is gaining ground in virtual standings. Very unfortunate is the downfall of the Towanoyama supporters. If he doesn't appear again it means they will drop down to sd37. So far it's a weird basho with the majority of picks having more losses than wins. Except for the aforementioned Wakanoho crew only Yubiquitoyama (valiant Tamao pick who was completely shunned in the Makushita game), Andoreasu (Kazafuzan), Azumaryu (Fukunaga), Kintamayama (Chiyonishiki), charliki (Takamiryu), Tameiki (Tsukasaumi), and Fujisan (Gagamaru) enjoy a clean slate. Rank Shikona Surfs Position Standing 1. Oshirokita Wakakirin/Masatsukasa J14e/J14w 2-4/4-2 2. sashimaru** Furuichi ms13e 1-2 3. Tamanaogijima Furuichi ms13e 1-2 4. furanohana** Shibuya ms17w 1-2 5. Asashosakari 19,355 Posted January 13, 2006 Could be, of course. I just stole those numbers from a guy who posted them on this thread. (Clapping wildly...) That was before I realized that the 40 rank demotion only applies to full kyujo cases...if the rikishi appeared for at least one bout, it's only minus 35 ranks. Some of the other numbers in that post could use some work too, I'd say... How cruel to hold my 71st post against me. (Showing off...)
Randomitsuki 2,826 Posted January 17, 2006 The standings after day 10: Oshirokita's hopes to stay in front are now resting on Masatsukasa's shoulders. Meanwhile, the race for second place has become quite tight. In my very virtual standings I currently have furanohana on ms13, sashimaru and Tamanaogijima on ms19e, while the Wakanoho express has moved to ms19w. Ten players have secured KK.
