But he made it and has vowed to continue twirling the bow and doing his best as a Juryo rikishi. he was really happy to finally sport his white training mawashi, but seeing Touki, his longtime otibekust wearing the black non-sekitori mawashi, he blurted- "That doesn't look good on Touki-zeki..". Yesterday at the Kataonami de-geiko, he beat Makuuchi stalwarts Tamanoshima and Tamakasuga. "Whatever happens, I want to stay in Juryo!!", he said. Since 1952, when the daily yumitorishiki was established, only 5 yumitorikishi made it to sekitorihood. It was thought that yumitorikishi were jinxed. "When I got the job, knowing of the jinx, I thought 'I don't want that..'" OTOH, it's a high-profile, important daily performance. "A Makushita rikishi never gets to be seen by so many people, ", he said, using that reason as a springboard. Last year at Haru he was even part of a Makushita yusho playoff. During the after -Haru jungyo, he began teaching some underlings the art of bow twirling. "I'd like to continue doing it till the people around me tell me it's enough. Even if I rise up in the ranks", he added. He will be fighting for 15 days for the first time this basho. He is expecting some busy days.. madorosumaru 7 Posted May 1, 2006 According to Ichinoya's Takasago page, Oga will continue to use the Kyokai kesho mawashi for the yumitori-shiki.BTW, Oga's new personal kesho mawashi is quite "unique" (Ichinoya's term). It is going to be a gift from the Okamisan's father, chief executive (kaicho) of the Konomiya chain of supermarkets, and the design will be a manga version of an Oga yumitori-shiki drawn by Yaku Mitsuru, a famous manga artist, essayist and TV commentator. Well, the mawashi is ready. "It's quite something to have [someone like] Mr. Yaku draw up the design [for the mawashi] for me," Oga said appreciatively.
