Guest nomo Posted July 25, 2006 At first I would like to say thank you to all cause I enjoy reading your posts with deep knowledge of sumo and can learn English with fun. :-P Here I introduce sumo manga(cartoon). Momotaro by Yu Koyama. 「ももたろう」作者・小山ゆう. http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language...anguage=en%5FJP It was written in 1990-1994. In these books, there are many character who made an actual person a model . Takanohana,Konisiki,Akebono, and former Rijicho... The author satirizes severely SumoKyokai's conservatism, and adhesion with the economic world. I'm interest in your thoughts. :-) Koyama loves and knows sumo well,so I think sumofans will enjoy these manga. Photo of Yu Koyama(小山ゆう)↓(most under photo, left side) http://www7.ocn.ne.jp/~tubasami/terao_taka...na/terao_3.html I'm very happy if you write your impression. But please write in easy English... :-S Momotaro published three times in different style book because it is popular. 1,ビッグコミックス(big comics).vol.1-vol.10. 2.スーパービジュアルコミックス(super visual comics).vol.1-vol.6. 3.オンデマンド版(on demand comics).vol.1-vol.9.All sold out in Amazon.co.jp. If you are rich,コミックセット(comic book set)is good for you. Probably they ship to outside Japan. http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/tg/det...5Fencoding=UTF8 Also in here, but I don't know whether they ship to other country ... http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/sear...=0jp&acc=jp A chief character Momotaro reminds me Baruto. Both are very powerful, enjoying sumo, and always picking their noses(being less serious)... :-P http://sumofanmag.com/content/Issue_7/gall...oons/loh_03.htm

Guest nomo Posted July 26, 2006 My English is very bad but I can buy books from Amazon.com(Amazon USA)cause all design of website is same between Amazon USA and Amazon Japan(Amazon.co.jp),without languague. If you are buying from Amazon USA,perhups it is easier to buy from Amazon Japan. I enter same e-mail address, password, and credit card to purchase in both website. They ship books from USA to Japan. Thank you for watching (Yusho winner...)

Guest nomo Posted August 2, 2006 Bad news... no furigana in these! (Tears forming...) But these are manga, you can see many hiragana, not difficult sentences. I think these will be very fun textbook if you are studying Japanese (Sign of approval)
