QttP 0 Posted May 31, 2003 (edited) Yay! My favorite Israeli football (soccer) team - Maccabi Tel-Aviv has won the Israeli league championship for the first time in 7 years. Boy, were these long 7 years! It's actually funny, that I've really started caring for the team after they've won their last title in 1996. Since then - two times cup (2001,2002) and one time silver medals (1999), but not the big one. Well, it finally came tonight! In a dramatic ending to the current season, Maccabi has beaten another Maccabi (Haifa) in the race to the title by two goals (same number of points - 69, +35 goal difference compared to +33). In the last game tonight Maccabi TA beat Hapoel Petah-Tikva by 3 goals to 0. Haifa's 5-1 victory over Ashdod was not enough. We finished with 22 wins, 3 draws and 8 losses. I'm very happy tonight! :-D (Sign of approval) (Applauding...) (Clapping wildly...) (Sign of approval) (Applauding...) Hmm... 69 points... Well, I guess the only thing left now is for [YOU_KNOW_WHO] to become the 69th [YOU_KNOW_WHAT]. But I guess that will have to wait a bit more. Kintamayama 45,093 Posted May 31, 2003 Ok, I'll have to grudgingly agree with you on this one, although MY team, Hapoel Ramat -Gan, from the second league, mind you, won the Cup, beating Maccabi Tel-Aviv on the way..
